INGREDIENTS:
Corn kernels : 1 cup
Green chillies : 6
Urad dal : 2 tspoons (soak atleast for 1hr)
Jeera : 1/2 tspoon
Onion : 4 (medium); finely chopped
Salt : to taste
Oil : for deep fry
METHOD:
- Coarsely grind corn kernels (1 cup), soaked & drained urad dal, jeera, green chillies, don't grind it too smooth.
- To this coarse paste - add salt, onions & mix well.
- Make the shape of vada with that paste on your palm, meanwhile heat oil for deep fry.
- When oil is hot, reduce the flame to medium & fry these vadas to golden brown colour on both sides & place on a kitchen towel to absorb oil.
- Serve and tastes good with tomato sauce.
NOTE :
- Urad dal can be substituted with maida/ rice flour also
- Can also add coriander & curry leaves to the paste
- Be cautious about salt, it takes less.
